Where the fog are the windmills - the sequel
On one of my last visits to Zaanse Schans it was very very foggy and you could only see the windmill that was right in front of you. The rest of them remained hidden in the fog.
In order not to keep everyone in suspense about the windmills I went back. Without the fog this is one of the amazing views you will get when you visit Zaanse Schans.
From Amsterdam Central Station it is only a 15 minute train ride to get to Zaandijk - Zaanse Schans and with a 15 minute walk from the train station in Zaandijk, you are already at Zaanse Schans.NetherlandsWindmillZaanse Schanscloudsdutcheveningnightphotonighttimereflectionsunset
Where the fog are the windmills
Normally from this location at Zaanse Schanse at least 4 windmills should be visible. Due to the morning fog only one is clearly visible and another is just visible in the background.

In Zaanse Schans you'll find a collection of well-preserved historic windmills. All ancient windmills from the Zaanstreek have been located here.
